Jose Mourinho hits out at 'unprofessional' Premier League

Jose Mourinho hits out at ‘unprofessional’ Premier League for last-minute decision to postpone clash with Fulham and claimed it disrupted Tottenham’s work for the week after Covid outbreak in Scott Parker’s squad

Jose Mourinho has hit out at the Premier League following Tottenham’s postponed game against Fulham, branding the top flight ‘unprofessional’ for cancelling the game late on.

Spurs were due to host the Cottagers on Thursday, having earned a 1-1 draw against Wolves at Molineux last Sunday. However, the game was abandoned owing to a coronavirus outbreak within Scott Parker’s squad.

The game, which was due to be played at 6pm, was postponed in the afternoon following a meeting among Premier League officials.

Jose Mourinho has branded the Premier League ‘unprofessional’ ahead of the visit of Leeds

Mourinho shared a post on Instagram on the day of the game sarcastically labelling the top flight ‘the best league in the world’ as he and his squad were left in limbo over the status of their game.

And the Portuguese coach branded the league ‘unprofessional’ for their approach to the fixture as the feisty boss previewed Saturday’s visit of in-form Leeds United.

‘I felt unprofessional. But that it was the way it was,’ he said. Mourinho opted not to expand on his comments when questioned further.
