A hospitality suite that hosted the Ryder Cup has gone up in flames just days after Team Europe regained the coveted prize.

Marco Simone Golf & Country Club hosted the 2023 Ryder Cup, with Team USA hammered by Team Europe thanks to a great performance in four-balls. However, just days after it closed it doors to the tournament, one of the hospitality suites has gone up in flames.

Videos have emerged on social media of the structure in flames, with the fire reportedly starting at around 5pm local time. According to local media nobody has been injured and firefighters are at the scene.

As well as firefighters, police were presented at the scene. And according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, evacuations from the local area were considered.

Police had concerns over "unbreathable air", however it was decided that local areas didn't need to be evacuated. However, roads surrounding the golf course were temporarily closed.

Team Europe beat Team USA 16½-11½ on home soil on Sunday evening.

Rory McIlroy credited the victory with Luke Donald's captaincy: "It started probably a year ago when Luke took the captaincy!

"The team started to take shape and we did that practice trip here a couple of weeks ago and everyone would probably agree with me but we sat around the fire pit that night and we chatted and we got to know each other really well.

"And that was an amazing experience. I got to know things about these guys that… I thought I knew them for a long time but I got to know something different about them."
