Christian Horner’s Spice Girl wife Geri smacked Toto Wolff’s bum ‘so hard’

Red Bull boss Christian Horner revealed that his Spice Girl wife Geri Halliwell decided to slap Toto Wolff's bum "so hard".

Horner, 50, is fresh off a second consecutive double world championship and a third Drivers' title for Max Verstappen in what was a dominating season for the Dutchman. The 26-year-old won a record 19 out of 22 Grands Prix held as well as finishing on the podium a record 21 times.

Following his triumph in the last race of the season in Grand Prix, Horner posed for a snap with rival Mercedes boss Toto Wolff but there was a particular tidbit about their embrace that the Red Bull chief only just revealed during an interview on the Sky Sports F1 Podcast.

Talking to Matt Baker, the reporter showed Horner a photo of he and Wolff in the last race of the season as the Warwickshire native admitted: "It was an amusing moment because I think my wife had just smacked his bum so hard, I think it took him a bit by surprise.

He seemingly suggested he wasn't best pleased with his wife's antics before speaking of the respect he has with the Austrian billionaire. "You probably can't even see my clenched fist, it's out of shot there. It's been a long season and there has to be competition on track but there still has to be respect."

Prior to the end of the season, Horner found himself in hot water with seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton after claiming the Brit's team reached out to Red Bull over potential talks considering Hamilton's contract with Mercedes was to end in 2023.

While the 38-year-old has since signed a two-year contract with the team, before putting ink to a new deal, he denied Horner's claims, instead saying it was the Red Bull boss that first attempted to contact him. Prior to the Abu Dhabi GP, Hamilton said: "I checked with everyone on the team, and no-one has spoken to them, but they have tried to reach out to us," Hamilton told media including PlanetF1.com.

He added: "I picked up my old phone, which I just found at home that had my old number and I switched it on and obviously hundreds of messages came through, and I realised there was one from Christian [saying] to get together and have a chat at the end of the season."
