Bayern Munich begin their 2023-24 Champions League campaign with a mouthwatering clash against\u00a0Manchester United, but will be without Thomas Tuchel.<\/p>\n
The Bundesliga giants come into the match with the Premier League side off the back of a 2-2 draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen – with\u00a0Harry Kane netting for Tuchel’s side.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Munich will be looking to win their seventh Champions League title this season. Their last came back in 2020 when they defeated Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the final.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As for the Red Devils, Erik ten Hag’s side have endured a poor start to the season. They come into the Champions League clash off a defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.<\/p>\n

The Bundesliga giants come into the game off the back of a 2-2 draw against\u00a0Bayer Leverkusen<\/p>\n
Tuchel will serve a one-match when his Bayern side face Manchester United on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The German manager was sent to the stands during Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City\u00a0in the Champions League quarter-final back in April.<\/p>\n
Despite Joshua Kimmich scoring from the spot, Bayern were eliminated from the competition 4-1 on aggregate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The former Chelsea manager was sent to the stands in the 85th minute by referee\u00a0Clement Turpin after the German was left fuming\u00a0over a foul by City defender Aymeric Laporte on Kingsley Coman.<\/p>\n
Tuchel, who has been no stranger to dissent during his managerial career, had to be held back by one of his assistants as he raged at the referee and his team of assistants.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He continued to protest to the referee, who eventually sent off Tuchel – and was forced to watch the rest of the game from the stands.<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old will be allowed to return to the dugout in their second Champions League group game – an away fixture against Copenhagen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bayern’s clash with Manchester United will take place on Wednesday, September 20, with kick-off at 8pm.<\/p>\n
The showdown between the two teams will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich.<\/p>\n
The two sides last met back in 2014 – with Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben all scoring in a 2-1 win for the Bundesliga giants.<\/p>\n
