<\/p>\nArsenal Women's Champions League exit has been called the 'heritage of the club' after their agonising defeat on penalties.<\/p>\n
Jonas Eidevall's side, who reached the semi-finals of the competition last season, were knocked out by Paris FC in qualifying following a 3-3 draw in Sweden on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Two goals from summer signing Alessia Russo and one from Jen Beattie came across the 120 minutes, with Frida Maanum and then Russo both missing in the 4-2 shoot-out defeat.<\/p>\n
A rival fan simply wrote in response: "Heritage." A second comment laughed: "Arsenal\u2019s European heritage."<\/p>\n

A Manchester United fan then mentioned former star Russo by saying: "It's the arsenal heritage.. Hold that Russo." <\/p>\n
Another reply said: "Arsenal bottling again? Football heritage." A fifth social media user concluded: "This is Arsenal heritage."<\/p>\n
Those fans were also mocking the results of the men's side in Europe having only reached the final of the Champions League once in 2005\/06 and losing out to Barcelona.<\/p>\n

They have since lost in the final of the Europa League to add to their misery, returning to the Champions League after six seasons this year.<\/p>\n
The women's side have in fact had more success, winning the UEFA Women's Champions League back in 2006\/07, which was then called the UEFA Women's Cup.<\/p>\n
