Lando Norris has claimed that the invasion of drivers\u2019 privacy is the worst element of being on the F1 grid in the current era. The rise of social media and the sport\u2019s popularity have turned racers into global celebrities.<\/p>\n
As one of the most active drivers on social media, Norris has cultivated an army of young fans who regularly tune in to watch him livestream video games and keep up to date with his life away from the racetrack through his Instagram account.<\/p>\n
While some drivers are more private away from the racetrack (Sebastian Vettel had no social media until his Instagram account was created in the summer of 2022), playing into the fame and celebrity that comes with driving in F1 is crucial to building a brand and a fanbase.<\/p>\n
Speaking to RaceFans<\/em> about the downsides of being an F1 driver, Norris said: \u201cI would say that\u2019s the worst thing of it all, just losing privacy.
