<\/p>\nChris Eubank Jr's trainer Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre has been charged with two firearm offences following his arrest at Manchester Airport on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
McIntyre was arrested by armed police at Manchester Airport after he was discovered to be carrying a gun and ammunition in his checked baggage. <\/p>\n
According to the Daily Mail, McIntyre, who had just coached Chris Eubank Jr to a win over bitter rival Liam 'Beefy Boy' Smith was subject to a routine bag scan in the departures lounge of Terminal 2.<\/p>\n
However, the scan showed a loaded gun and ammunition in a checked bag.<\/p>\n

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to reports of a possible firearm being found in hold luggage by airport staff at Manchester Airport. GMP officers attended, and the firearm was seized.<\/p>\n
"Subsequently, a 53-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm and was taken to custody for further questioning.<\/p>\n

"Brian McIntyre from the United States of America was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate."<\/p>\n
McIntyre was remanded into custody after attending Stockport Magistrates Court on Monday, and he is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, October 9.<\/p>\n
The incident has overshadowed a career-best performance from Eubank Jr – who was able to get revenge over Smith at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Eubank Jr dominated the bout, and after dropping Smith in the fourth, he delivered the final blow in the tenth. Smith was able to beat the count, but after another onslaught from Eubank Jr referee Kevin Parker stepped in.<\/p>\n
