Novak Djokovic’s mum was emotional as she insisted her son had been subjected to emotional ‘torture’ and ‘harassment’ in his fight for a visa to take place at the Australia Open later this month. A judge last night upheld Djokovic’s appeal to remain in the country after the Australia Border Force cancelled his visa ahead of the tournament.

Djokovic was initially granted a medical exemption to take part in the competition later this month as he is not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Djokovic’s mmum said: “Thank you for coming, so many of you. We’re here to celebrate the victory of our son, our Novak, a boy who in his family learned not to put up with lies and cheating.
