Liverpool: Klopp makes Man Utd penalty claim after loss
Aston Villa have been beaten by Liverpool in six of their last seven FA Cup encounters. Villa, though, won the most recent such meeting with a 2-1 victory at Wembley in the semi-finals of the 2014/15 competition. On each of the last three occasions the Reds have knocked out Villa, they have gone on to reach the FA Cup final.
What has been said?
Villa boss Dean Smith: “We’re going to have to definitely look at the schedule.
“As much as I love the FA Cup I did feel that with the congested fixtures that the FA Cup might have been postponed this year due to the pandemic to free up the other spaces for other (Premier League) fixtures.
“It hasn’t been and we will have to make some changes.
“I’m certain that Liverpool will do the same as well because there’s a hell of a programme in January, that’s for sure.”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: “Now we go to Villa, that is the next one.
“Last time we lost there pretty clear so we should make sure we don’t do that again.
“Man United (Liverpool’s next game) is too long away that I think about that already.”
