Tottenham star Dele Alli’s Instagram post after Fulham draw may irk Jose Mourinho
Tottenham: Mourinho gives verdict on draw with Fulham
It didn’t take long after Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Fulham for Dele Alli to send a message – albeit a subtle one. Alli had been tipped to start for Spurs on Wednesday night after an outstanding performance in the FA Cup victory over non-league side Marine at the weekend.
But the 24-year-old remained an unused substitute despite Tottenham being in desperate need of a winning goal.
After the game former Tottenham star Graham Roberts described leaving Alli on the bench as ‘crazy’ and it appears as though he wasn’t the only one left unhappy.
Just 30 minutes after the full-time whistle, Alli posted a picture on his Instagram story with him looking far from impressed.
It is hardly a surprise when you consider that Mourinho only used two of his substitutes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, instead bringing on Erik Lamela and Carlos Vinicius.

The England international has not started a league game for Spurs since the opening game of the 2020/21 campaign, when he was hauled off at half time in the 1-0 defeat to Everton.
Alli has only played in the Premier League for eight minutes since October 4 and has only appeared for 74 minutes in total.
It has led to talk that Alli could leave in January, with the midfielder said to be a transfer target for several clubs in recent months.
Newcastle United and Everton are reportedly considering a move in the January transfer window, while Paris St Germain had three loan offers for the 24-year-old rejected in the summer.

With the subsequent appointment of his former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, PSG may well come back in for Alli.
Another Ligue 1 side, Monaco, were also said to have considered Alli, with Spurs’ former chief scout Paul Mitchell now working there as sporting director.
But after Alli’s impressive showing at the weekend, Mourinho seemed to indicate Alli might be on the verge of securing more game time.
After the match, Mourinho was asked if Alli was now in contention for a Premier League starting spot.
He replied: “He was here today and of course it was not the match to measure the quality.
“But the professionalism and attitude, I am very happy with it.
“I will not be surprised if next Wednesday (Fulham game) Dele is playing with us.
“I am really happy with his attitude in the game.
“Of course we didn’t want to risk much, the pitch is a bit dangerous and their enthusiasm can put the creative ones in some risk.
“But I am happy – good professionalism, good dynamic from him and Gedson [Fernandes] to start trying to create, so really pleased for the performance.”
