Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Anthony Martial to Inter Milan in a move that could ultimately shape the summer transfer strategy of Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici. The Red Devils forward, who made 36 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, is believed to be a target for Inter ahead of the new campaign.
The Italian champions look set to lose Romelu Lukaku over the coming days, with the 28-year-old poised to join Chelsea for a fee in the region of £97million.
His goalscoring prowess was influential in leading Inter to their first domestic triumph in 11 years last season, with his presence likely to be missed at the top of the pitch as they go in search of back-to-back Serie A titles at the next time of asking.
A move for Martial could prove to be a shrewd bit of business for all involved after the Frenchman’s recent struggles in attack for United.
He hit a purple patch towards the end of the 2019/20 campaign, finding the net on 23 occasions in all competitions, but was unable to carry his form over into last season.
Martial scored just four Premier League goals as United were pipped to the title by local rivals Manchester City, with a potential change of scenery able to offer him a fresh start and a clean slate.

United will reportedly consider bids that fall around the £50m mark, according to The Sun.
Martial, who has previously stated that he sees himself as a central striker rather than a winger, could be tasked with leading the line in Lukaku’s absence if his proposed move to Inter comes to fruition.
The switch could also boost Tottenham’s hopes of landing Inter forward Lautaro Martinez, who has been heavily linked with the north London club in recent days.
Paratici is believed to be an admirer of the 23-year-old, but Inter are said to be keen on retaining his services into next season and beyond.
Spurs are pushing to sign Martinez but the deal is reportedly being held up by Lukaku’s expected return to Chelsea.
Inter could be left short of firepower if both players are shipped out, with the pair scoring a combined total of 49 goals throughout the previous campaign.
However, if Inter are successful in bringing Martial to the San Siro over the coming weeks, they could be inclined to soften their stance on Martinez.
The three-time European champions have also been credited with an interest in Lazio striker Joaquin Correa, and successful moves for both players would secure replacements for the club’s existing duo of Lukaku and Martinez.

Inter have reportedly slapped a valuation of £60m on the latter, suggesting that they could recoup around £157m by selling him alongside Lukaku.
Around half of this total figure would likely be spent on the potential signings of Martial and Correa, allowing Inter to retain a hefty chunk in order to balance the books.
It remains to be seen whether the Italian heavyweights will eventually agree to let Martinez join Tottenham ahead of this month’s transfer deadline.
However, it appears as though United could inadvertently spark a merry-go-round if Martial is sold to Inter, with Spurs and Paratici set to emerge as the biggest winners.
