Poveda departs, Leeds battle for Sheffield star, Rangers fear Kent apporach

Leeds United reacted well to their awful display against Manchester United on the opening day of the season, as they drew against Everton in front of a packed crowd at Elland Road.

Business has been fairly quiet in recent weeks for Leeds as opposed to the start of the window, but there is still one week for Bielsa to make further signings before the transfer window closes on August 31.

So far the club have signed Jack Harrison on a permanent basis from Manchester City, and brought in Junior Firpo, Kristoffer Klaesson and Lewis Bate.

There are still plenty of rumoured deals to be done at Leeds, and Daily Star Sport is here to round-up the best bits…

Poveda joins Blackburn

Leeds United winger Ian Poveda has joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season.

The young Englishman joined Leeds in January 2020 following a glamorous youth career, playing academy football at Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona and finally Manchester City.

Poveda has made 20 appearances since joining Leeds and could make his Blackburn debut on Saturday when they travel to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough.

The winger is very much still in Bielsa's plans, and Leeds director of football Victor Orta said: “We feel Ian can make an impact in the future and we’ve been very impressed with how Blackburn have developed players such as Harvey Elliott at Liverpool."

Leeds battle for Jebbison

Daniel Jebbison is a wanted man, and Sky's Kaveh Solhekol has confirmed that there are at least three Premier League teams interested in the young striker.

Everton have already had a bid of £5million rejected for the 18-year-old according to TeamTalk, with Aston Villa and Leeds interested.

Rafael Benitez is set to table another bid for the striker who was born in Canada, putting their fellow Premier League competitors on red alert.

Jebbison made four top-flight appearances last term before Sheffield United were relegated, and scored his first Premier League goal against Everton at Goodison Park.

Rangers fear Kent apporach

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is bracing himself for a late approach for Ryan Kent, according to the Daily Mail.

Kent had been linked with a move to Leeds all summer but no deal materialised, but with a deal for Club Brugge's Noa Lang looking less likely, they could refocus their attention to the Rangers forward.

Leeds failed with a bid for Kent last summer, and the Rangers man had a brilliant campaign at Ibrox as they remained unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership.

It hasn't gone quite according to plan this season however, with the club blowing their Champions League hopes, and Kent could fancy a move to the Premier League.
