Pogba explains Solskjaer’s half-time team talk that turned Man Utd’s fortunes

4Paul Pogba has revealed what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to the Manchester United players at half-time to inspire their sensational second half against Roma.

The Red Devils have one foot firmly in the final of the Europa League after an incredible 6-2 victory over Roma on Thursday night.

United trailed 2-1 at half-time, and were looking down the barrel of a tough trip to Italy next week to turn things around.

But Solskjaer’s side scored an incredible five goals in the space of less than 40 minutes to swing the tie in their favour.

Opening up on Solskjaer’s team talk, France midfielder Paul Pogba admitted that it was just a case of going back to basics and staying focussed, which they will also have to do in a weeks time.

"First half we made two mistakes and we concede two goals,” he told BT Sport. “After we concede the second goal we were a bit all over the place.

"At half-time we just talk and said do the right things, let's do simple things and everything will go through.

“The manager spoke, we were all motivated to go and score as many goals as possible.

"The result is positive but it's not finished. There is one more leg to go through. We're going to have to stay focused and play with the same mentality."

Pogba was a little unfortunate to give away a penalty after just 15 minutes when the ball struck his hand as he dived to block a cross.

And the 27-year-old admits that he needs to learn to dive in less, especially with his arms.
