Pogba and Bailly say emotional goodbye as Fosu-Mensah seals Man Utd exit

Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly said an emotional goodbye to Timothy Fosu-Mensah following his move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Fosu-Mensah, who made his United senior debut in 2016, joins the Bundesliga side for an undisclosed fee.

His final appearance for the Red Devils came in the 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League in November, though he was clearly much-loved by his team-mates.

Footage shows Pogba and Bailly both embracing their former fellow Red as they said goodbye to the right-back.

Pogba calls Fosu-Mensah: “My brother from another mother. Blessings to you bro.

“I don’t watch a lot of Germany, but now, we are going to miss you too much. Who is going to make me laugh?

“We capture the moment, this day we will remember this. But I’m happy for you, too much.”

Fosu-Mensah has agreed a three-year contract at Bayer Leverkusen, having won an FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League while at United.

"Timothy Fosu-Mensah is a technically adept, fast and physically strong defender who can be used both as a right-back and in the centre," said Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes.

While the player himself is excited to get going in Germany.

"In the last few days I've talked a lot with the coach, and conversations with Simon Rolfes and Rudi Völler have convinced me that there are great prospects in Leverkusen," Fosu-Mensah said.

”Both for me personally and for us as a team. That will be really exciting."
