A football match in the Polish fifth-tier suffered an unusual interruption when a parachutist crash-landed on the pitch.

The incident occurred during the game involving Olimpia Eblag and PISA Primavera Barczewo on Sunday, bringing play to a halt.

Video shows the man, who was wearing a black and green jump suit, flying across the pitch at a rate of knots before landing in the centre-circle.

Astonished players from both teams looked on as the parachutist gathered his composure after making the surprise arrival.

Even the referee saw the funny side of the incident, brandishing a yellow card in the direction of the unusual pitch invader.

The parachutist reacted calmly to the incident – gathering his chute and attempting to brush off the situation.

A man can then be seen running onto the pitch and helping the intruder before the pair leave the field together.

Remarkably, this isn’t the first time a parachutist has interrupted a football match.

In 2013, a man taking part in a charity skydive got his drop point all wrong and landed on the pitch during a National League match between Salisbury City and Chester.

The referee stopped the game until the confused flyer could be escorted away to cheers from the 900 people inside the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

Former Stoke City and Southampton star Danny Higginbotham was playing for Chester at the time and marked it down as one of the strangest incidents in his entire career.
