Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sack will cost Man Utd £7.5million after contract signing
Manchester United will reportedly have to fork out £7.5million worth of compensation to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if they do decide to sack him at this point in the season.
The Red Devils boss suffered humiliating defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool before the international break, losing 2-0 and 5-0 respectively, and then lost 4-1 to Watford at Vicarage Road as pressure piles on the Norwegian manager.
The result against the Hornets means that the Red Devils have lost five of their last seven games in the league.
The Sun report that, following the loss, some members of the Man United board are looking to terminate the contract of Solskjaer while others are hoping for a different direction.
The same publication says that if he was to be given the chop, he would be given a full year’s salary as per his severance package agreement.
The price works out at about £7.5million, making him fifth in the highest-paid Premier League managers.
United now go up against a Chelsea side reeling from a dominant 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, while they have to face Villareal midweek in the Champions League to secure a first-place finish in their group.

A report as per the Sunday Times suggests that Zinedine Zidane is being sounded out for the job, with the Glazer family asking that club staff make contact with the Frenchman and persuade him to move to Old Trafford.
The same publication also state that a virtual meeting was supposed to be carried out at 7pm involving a discussion about Solskjaer’s severance package but full details of the meeting are yet to be revealed.
In the post-game interview, Solskjaer said: “I’ve got to say you’re surprised, because all these lads are good lads, top players, top professionals.
“‘Of course, when it’s not going for you it’s going against you, and it’s hard to play with that mental break.
"In the second half, we came out with nothing to lose, played fantastically, scored loads of… well scored a good goal, created chances. But of course, it wasn’t enough.”
