Neymar and Harry Kane part of Newcastle’s 11-man ‘Galacticos’ transfer wish list

Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing Neymar and Harry Kane in a huge summer transfer window inspired by Real Madrid’s famous ‘Galacticos’.

The Magpies have secured Champions League football for the first time since 2003 thanks to Eddie Howe’s heroics in the Premier League this season. Backed by their wealthy new Saudi Arabian owners, the club can now turn their attention towards an exciting summer of recruitment.

That could see them rock the footballing world by splurging huge sums on world class talent.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Newcastle are looking to sign global mega stars in the same manner that Florentino Perez gathered the likes of David Beckham, Ronaldo Nazrio, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo at Real Madrid in the early 2000s.

Tottenham striker Kane is understood to be the north-east club’s top transfer target this summer. The England captain has just one year left on his contract and has repeatedly expressed his desire to finally win some silverware.

That could come sooner rather than later at Newcastle, with the club already making huge strides this season, both in the league and in reaching the Carabao Cup final.

The link comes despite Newcastle already possessing Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak, who was signed just last summer for around £60million.

But the Newcastle hierarchy are not content with landing just Kane – with Brazilian Neymar also reportedly on the list of potential recruits.

The 31-year-old magician has grown discontent with his situation at Paris Saint-Germain, who he joined in 2017 and has won four league titles with.

Howe previously expressed his reluctance to sign big names, though it is unlikely the manager would say no to such firepower.

The likes of Leicester City’s James Maddison, Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, Chelsea loanee Joao Felix and Arsenal target Moussa Diaby have also been linked with the Toon.

Completing the billionaire-owned club’s reported 11-man shortlist are Eberechi Eze, Mohammed Kudus, Dominik Szoboszlai, Samuel Chukwueze and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
