Neil Warnock made sure one young fan went home extra-happy after his side's 7-0 thrashing of Tavistock AFC on Wednesday evening.

The Middlesbrough boss has taken his squad to Cornwall for a training camp, with three friendlies scheduled as well as his famous pre-season BBQ for the team to gel together.

Now aged 72, this is Warnock's 41st season in management, having first taken charge of Northern Premier League side Gainsborough Trinity in 1981.

And after a convincing display on the south coast, the veteran manager was caught on camera going the extra mile, handing one young supporter a signed photo from his bum bag.

It was a heartwarming clip shared across Twitter of the young girl's wide smile whilst staring down in disbelief at the gift Warnock had given her.

A big shout of "thanks," was directed at the Boro boss before a reply of "it's alright darling."

Speaking after the Teessider's 3-0 pre-season win over Bishop Auckland, Warnock explained the reasoning for carrying the photographs:

"I went round before the game. I brought some photographs," said the Boro boss speaking to the club's website.

"I've been told not to mix tonight. So I thought, if I bring some photographs I can go round and give them to the kids.

"It was lovely to see their faces tonight. Really happy faces and I'm sure they'll have a good time this year."

With three wins on the bounce in pre-season Warnock will hoping to carry that form into the new Championship season, where he'll be gunning for his ninth promotion to the top flight.

No manager has reached the Premier League more times than the 72-year-old, who is often know for his no-nonsense, say it how it is type of management.

But this video shows Warnock's other side excellently, a genuine care for his supporters, which has been reciprocated by many football fans on social media:

"A signed Neil Warnock photo. Treasure it young lady. What a legend," said one fan

"This is the best thing you’ll see today. So old school. 2021 are the days of taking pictures to show off on social media. Here’s me thinking the days of signatures were gone… never mind pre-signed autographs," replied another.

While one supporter made a point to enjoy the veteran boss whilst he's still managing: "Be a sad sad day when Neil Warnock is out of football. Don’t make em like him anymore."
