Mourinho gave heartwarming Christmas gift to lonely Spurs star Sergio Reguilon
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho showed his true nature with his Christmas gift to Sergio Reguilon.
The controversial Spurs boss has eased his reputation of being a stern manager in recent months, despite his harsh words concerning Dele Alli and Serge Aurier during his time at the club.
One player who has received slightly better luck under the Portuguese boss is Reguilon, who joined the club on a permanent deal from Real Madrid in the summer alongside Gareth Bale.
The left-back recently shared an story in which Mourinho bought him a £500 ham for his performance against Manchester City, and it appears he did something similar last week.
Reguilon has said: “On Christmas day, Jose knows that I am alone. We got to training and I had a box.
“I open it and it was a suckling pig already cooked.
“He told me I know you are alone at Christmas so you don't have to cook and eat well."
The fine gesture shows that Mourinho is keen to look after his players during the current hectic period, but they were handed some unexpected rest after their game against Fulham was called off.
After the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss posted on Instagram bemoaning the uncertainly, the league announced that the fixture had been postponed.
He said: “Match at 6 pm… We still don’t know if we play. Best league in the world.”
With the Premier League then saying: “The match between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, due to be played at 18:00 GMT this evening, has been postponed following a Premier League Board meeting this afternoon.
"Fulham lodged a request with the Premier League Board to rearrange the fixture following a significant rise in positive COVID-19 cases, as well as a number of players showing symptoms today.
The Premier League Board has consulted its medical advisors and the decision to postpone the game has been taken as a precaution and with the health of players and staff as the priority. The group will now be retested immediately.”
