Man Utd fans go wild for incredible Bruno Fernandes pass during Sporting clash

Bruno Fernandes has already got Manchester United fans purring despite wearing the green of Sporting Lisbon on Friday night.

The 25-year-old is playing in what could be his last match for the Portuguese side against city rivals Benfica.

And already he is showing what they could be about to miss with a sumptuous through ball that almost led to the opener.

Fernandes dropped deep to receive the ball from his right-back before knocking a lofted ball through to Rafael Camacho.

The former Liverpool man was unable to make it count as his shot cannoned off the post, but already United fans are licking their lips at what could be heading their way.

  • Sir Alex Ferguson 'has spoken' to Kalidou Koulibaly about £63m Man Utd transfer

"He's everything that our midfield isn't, it's as simple as that. He's on another level," said one.

"Martial or Rashford would of buried that – now imagine passes like that from him and Pogba," added a second.

"Get him to United right this second," demanded a third.

Fernandes' move to Old Trafford will cost the Premier League club around £60 although several factors, including issues surrounding the fee, are holding up the deal.

  • Sporting disobey Man Utd transfer request as Bruno Fernandes nears exit

Sporting and United are haggling over how much is paid upfront and how much will be received in instalments.

Sky Sports' James Cooper though has said, given how much United have invested in the midfielder this month, it would be a surprise if the deal failed to materialise.

He said: "Given that United have put all their eggs in one basket – it's the only player they are talking to, it's the only major deal they are trying to do – you'd be surprised if they couldn't get that deal over the line.

"It will happen and I think Solskjaer will want that player in as quickly as possible to provide some sort of spark in the absence of the likes of Paul Pogba and also Scott McTominay."
