Man Utd dressing room ‘support’ Mauricio Pochettino becoming new boss

The Manchester United dressing room reportedly support the idea of Mauricio Pochettino taking the reins if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked.

The Red Devils are struggling for form both domestically and in Europe and boss Solskjaer is under intense pressure to turn things around.

United allegedly held talks with former Tottenham manager Pochettino this week, following the Red Devils' defeat by Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.

The Old Trafford club is said to be feeling out the Argentine over possibly replacing Solskjaer should results fail to improve.

Manchester United take on Everton this weekend knowing defeat could see them fall to just one place above the relegation zone.

Manchester United are continuing to back Solskjaer for the time being, but the Daily Mail reports that the changing room support the idea of him being replaced by Pochettinho, should the worst come to the worst.

Pochettinho was recently on Sky Sports discussing his desire to return to management.

The Argentine, who hasn't managed a team since being sacked by Spurs in 2019, said: "I always feel ready to get back involved in the game. I love football, it's my job.

"It's not a stress when you are working, it's not a stress to go into the training ground, it's not a stress to prepare the game, it's not a stress to compete.

"My hair is long, look. I hope to cut it when we start working again to work. I am looking forward again to being involved in the game."
