Man Utd and Tottenham face missing out on transfer target Dani Olmo
Atletico Madrid are favourites to sign Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo, according to reports in Spain.
Olmo caught the eye of a number of Europe's top clubs over the summer after impressing at the European Under-21 Championship.
The 21-year-old helped Spain to lift the trophy in Italy and was named in the team of the tournament.
Although his performances have seen him linked with both Manchester United and Tottenham , AS reports that Atletico could beat the Premier League duo to his signature after turning their attention to the Dinamo star.
According to the Spanish publication, the La Liga giants have been tracking the winger and have already held talks with the player's agent, Juan Manuel Lopez.
Although the Premier League transfer window closed on August 8, clubs in many of Europe's top leagues have until September 2 to complete their business.
And AS reports that Diego Simeone's side is now best-placed to land the winger but must meet the price being demanded.
It is claimed that Atletico are also eyeing a move for Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno and that the club won't be able to bring in either player until they finalise departures of Angel Correa and Nikola Kalinic.
Reports in Italy have suggested that Correa is close to completing a move to AC Milan after a £38.4m (€42m) was agreed.
Olmo, who was a member of Barcelona's famous youth academy before making the move to Croatia as a 16-year-old, has scored 30 goals in 106 appearances for Dinamo.
He found the net eight times in the league last season and was named Player of the Year.
Earlier in the summer, Olmo admitted he would like to return to Spain but insisted he was open to all offers.
