Man Utd ace Paul Pogba could miss West Brom tie after Lowry Hotel team news hint
Manchester United star Paul Pogba is expected to miss this evening's clash with West Brom after he wasn't spotted at the team's Lowry Hotel this afternoon.
The Frenchman wasn't seen leaving the team bus at the hotel as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's side prepare for their return to Premier League action.
Pogba's inclusion has been a matter of speculation all week as the unsettled star faces an uncertain future.
And his absence tonight would surely add fuel to the fire regarding a potential Old Trafford exit.
The Manchester Evening News report Pogba wasn't with his team-mates this afternoon, although Alex Telles, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof have all travelled.
Pogba impressed for France over the international break, with national team manager Didier Deschamps voicing his opinion over the midfielder's United struggles.
But Solskjaer says he has spoken to the unsettled star since he returned to England.
“I spoke to Paul today about it,” he said this week.
“Of course, he’s not happy when he’s not been playing and not playing really well. He’s not been happy with his [club performances]. But Paul had a difficult season last season.
"Then he’s had Covid. But three games for France have helped him get his fitness and rhythm.
"I spoke to him and he feels stronger for it. He plays in the same position for France as he does for us, so that scenario isn’t an issue.”
“It’s about getting momentum and rhythm and Paul said he felt really strong towards the end of the games against Portugal and Sweden.
“After Covid he needed time to recover but now he looks fitter and stronger.
"I think he’s going to improve and be a very important player, and person, for us. To have him in form is vital.”
Telles, Rashford and Lindelof were all doubts for tonight's clash.
But the trio could all play a part against Slaven Bilic's side.
