Liverpool and Man Utd ‘contact Rice’s agent’ as Chelsea make transfer decision
Liverpool and Manchester United have “contacted” West Ham star Declan Rice’s agent as Chelsea have made a decision over the midfielder.
The Englishman was a top target for the Blues under Frank Lampard, having left the Stamford Bridge academy seven years earlier.
With the manager leaving, though, it has seen a change of focus away from the 22-year-old under Thomas Tuchel.
And transfer expert Ian McGarry has reported that two of Chelsea’s rivals have already started moves to sign Rice.
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, the transfer guru said: “He is no longer on the transfer list of recruitment possibilities for the Stamford Bridge club, but he has certainly roused the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United.
“Both of whom have expressed interest to Rice’s agent as we understand and they have asked to be kept informed of any offers made for the England international.”
West Ham’s midfielder was also linked with an Old Trafford move during the Chelsea speculation, who would compete with Fred and Scott McTominay.
But the Reds have a player Rice admires in Fabinho, having previously described him as the “best defensive midfielder”.
The Englishman has been in east London since 2014, graduating from the academy in 2017 to be a leading figure.
And he has gone to make 137 appearances, with the captain currently leading his side to fifth in the Premier League table.
While Rice looks a hot prospect, Hammers boss David Moyes will not be letting the 22-year-old go without a fight.

He said in January: “No matter who was the manager at Chelsea, or whoever came in, it would have been the same answer.
“I said it right at the start and I'm only repeating myself – Bank of England money would be required.
“And you might even need to add Bank of Scotland on to that as well because he has been so good!”
Rice has been keeping transfer speculation far from his mind, though, as he shared a joke with United loanee Jesse Lingard.
