Leeds prepare to re-sign Lewis Cook for £15m as Bournemouth suffer with exodus
Leeds are preparing a £15m swoop to re-sign Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook who left the club four years ago.
York-born Cook, 23, came through the academy at Elland Road before a £6m switch to the south coast in the summer of 2016.
Cherries’ chief executive Neill Blake declared at the time that they had signed 'one of the country’s brightest prospects'.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are tracking the England international as they look to add more Premier League experience to their squad.
Leeds fan Cook has played 69 league games for Bournemouth and could now set for an immediate return to the Premier League following his relegation.
Before Bournemouth's relegation, Cook spoke of his desire to play against Leeds but he would certainly prefer to play for them given the choice.
"I don't know what the reception would be like if I went back with Bournemouth, but I loved my time there so it'd be good to play them next season," he said.
"When I was there, unfortunately, we didn't get there but like I say, they're playing great football right now and it looks like a great place to be with the fans really taking to the team.

"Hopefully they can get there, I'm sure they will with the football they're playing which is top quality. When I have seen it, it's been great to watch."
Cook also reiterated words of praise for Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa that he had heard from friends at the club.
"I've spoken to a few of the lads that are still there, I think everyone knows, you can see even if you don't know him (Marcelo Bielsa) like I don't that he's a great manager, he's top, top.

"A lot of other managers say the same, the way he has them playing is great and he must be doing something right."
Bournemouth could be tempted to cash in on Cook, having already sold Nathan Ake to Chelsea and Aaron Ramsdale to Sheffield United after dropping through the trapdoor.
Strike pair Callum Wilson and Joshua King are both set to quit the club this summer while midfielder Jefferson Lerma wants to go back to Spain.
