RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is “open” to the job at Tottenham as Jose Mourinho faces a “crucial” 12 days.

The Portuguese boss has seen his Spurs team slide from first to ninth in the Premier League over the last 13 games, recording five losses from their last six.

It has seen pressure build on the 58-year-old as Champions League football next season hangs on their Europa League progress.

But the Telegraph have reported that there is now even more pressure from a potential replacement in Nagelsmann.

The Leipzig boss, who overcame Mourinho 4-0 on aggregate in last season’s round-of-16, is top of Spurs’ list to replace the boss.

And the 33-year-old is “open to the prospect” of moving to the Premier League at the end of the season.

While an arrival would not be imminent, the report states that the next 12 days have been defined as “crucial” for Mourinho.

Following the Europa League round-of-32 second leg against Wolfsberger – which the north London side already lead 4-1 – they host Burnley on February 28.

A mid-week trip to Fulham then follows before taking on Crystal Palace the following Sunday.

With a defeat in any of these games seen as a “huge blow”, the report states that this period could “define” Mourinho’s future at Tottenham.

Spurs to have a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City coming up in April – but a win “may not guarantee” the 58-year-old’s position if European football is not secured.
