Jamie Redknapp believes that if Arsenal win the title this season it would go down as one of the greatest achievements in Premier League history.
Mikel Arteta’s side secured a comfortable 3-0 win away to Fulham on Sunday and are currently five points ahead of Manchester City with both teams having eleven games remaining.
Arteta has done an excellent job to transform an Arsenal team that appeared directionless after losing the first three league games of last season and ended up missing out on Champions League qualification.
The Gunners have been playing with cohesion and dynamism throughout the campaign, with Arteta imposing his philosophy on the team.
Former Tottenham player Redknapp believes only Leicester’s incredible title success in 2016 would truly surpass Arsenal’s potential glory this year.

Redknapp also stated that Arsenal are the most enjoyable team to watch in the top flight
Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: ‘Leicester was probably the most amazing Premier League title win ever and I don’t think it will ever be beaten. But from where Arsenal were, if they were to win the title it would go down as one of the great Premier League achievements.
‘It’s so big how he’s turned it around and done it so quickly. I’m talking about power of the people and I think when you’ve got that belief at the Emirates, there’s such a positivity about the place. They believe in this team, they believe in the manager, and that helps so much.
‘Even if they make a mistake they’re still with the team, and the fact they scored a last minute winner. This is going to go right down to the last game possibly. They’ve got good fixtures coming up at the end of the season, who knows? I think that Man City away game is going to be so key.’
Redknapp also commented on the mental strength of the Arsenal side and insisted that they deserve much credit regardless of what happens in the remainder of the campaign.

He also stated that Arteta’s side are currently the most enjoyable team to watch in the Premier League, with City having not always played with their usual flair this campaign.
‘This is a different Arsenal. They’re going to have problems and challenges but this team right now mentally is so strong. I’m not saying they’re going to win the league because it can go either way right now and we can all have our opinions, but whatever happens this Arsenal team deserves so much credit.
‘They’ve been magnificent, the way they’ve played, the style of football, they’re the most enjoyable team to watch by far. Man City have done it in bits and pieces.
‘The job Mikel Arteta has done after picking his team up from last year when they must have been on the floor. I remember when they lost to Tottenham 3-0. I wondered where he was going to go. The way he’s picked them up, they’re blowing teams away.’
Arsenal’s next league game is at home to Crystal Palace next weekend and, with Manchester City not in league action, the Gunners have a chance to, temporarily at least, open up an eight point gap at the top.
