Jack Grealish sends message to Ben White after he completes £50m Arsenal move

Aston Villa and England star Jack Grealish has congratulated Ben White over his switch to Arsenal and says the £50m move is ‘fully deserved’.

White, 23, was unveiled as an Arsenal player on Friday. He joins the Gunners from fellow Premier League club Brighton in a deal costing £50m.

The England international becomes Mikel Arteta’s third signing of the summer following Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga. He will wear the No. 4 shirt at Arsenal.

Taking to social media after the deal was confirmed, White said: ‘My new home. Can’t wait to get started at Arsenal.’

Responding to White’s post, Grealish said: ‘Congrats brother. Fully deserved’, with a clapping and football emoji.

Grealish is expected to leave Aston Villa for Manchester City this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s charge submitting a stunning £100m bid for the 25-year-old this week.

White, meanwhile, said on his move to Arsenal ‘I don’t think I needed too much convincing to be fair. Obviously Arsenal speaks for itself and I spoke to the gaffer a number of times during the summer.

‘I got good vibes and the way the gaffer wants to play, I think I can produce quality in this team and hopefully get Arsenal back.

‘Obviously I’ve known for quite a while and it’s taken longer than I thought it would, but I’m buzzing to be here.’

Arsenal technical director Edu, meanwhile, added: ‘Ben has been a key target this summer. He has so many qualities which make us so excited he’s joining us.

‘Ben’s a young English player with a great future. He’s very strong defensively, good on the ball with a great passing range. We’re delighted Ben’s signed and we look forward to him growing with us.’
