How Man Utd could line up vs Burnley as Cavani backed to send Red Devils top

Edinson Cavani is expected to lead the line as Manchester United aim to go top of the Premier League with victory at Burnley.

Cavani, 33, has served a three-match suspension and is in contention for the challenging trip to Turf Moor.

A draw would be enough for United to leapfrog rivals Liverpool at the table's summit, but Solskjaer is expected to name his strongest available team in search of three points.

Previewing the clash, the United boss said: "Edinson has trained well. He had a couple of days off. He is ready to go, I am glad to have him back.

"He will be important for us until the end of the season.

Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes are almost certain to line up behind Cavani in attack, while Paul Pogba may get the nod on the left flank.

Though he's a natural central midfielder, the Frenchman has been used in wide roles by Solskjaer at times this season and his trickery in an advanced role may unlock a stubborn Burnley defence.

In holding midfield, Scott McTominay is likely to start after netting an early winner in the 1-0 FA Cup victory over Watford on Saturday, and may be partnered in the double-pivot by Fred.

Solskjaer received a major boost ahead of the clash with the Clarets, as centre-back Victor Lindelof returned to training after missing the Hornets cup tie with a back injury.

As such, the Swede will likely partner captain Harry Maguire, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw getting the nod in the full-back roles.

Left-back Shaw has recently suffered with a muscle complaint but, like Lindelof, has returned to full training in time for the trip to Lancashire.

Man Utd predicted XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Rashford, Fernandes, Pogba; Cavani.

What changes, if any, would you make to the starting XI above? Have your say in the comments.
