Erling Haaland was left furious at referee Simon Hooper after the full-time whistle, telling him to 'f*** off' as he was held back by City coaching staff.

City were held at home by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening, with Dejan Kulusevski rescuing a late point for Ange Postecoglou's side at the Etihad. And it was a frustrating game for Haaland, who failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

And tensions boiled over in the final minutes of the game, when Haaland released Jack Grealish through on goal. However, Hooper blew his whistle with the Englishman one-on-one, sending City players into a fit of rage towards the official.

The Norwegian had been fouled by Emerson Royal, but sprung back up and released Grealish. Hooper had indicated for an advantage to City, while Grealish was onside from the pass, but he still blew his whistle to signal for a City free-kick.

Haaland had to be held back by City's officials as he made his way down the tunnel, with the Norwegian appearing to yell "f*** off" twice in the direction of the referee.

City were left frustrated by Spurs on Sunday evening, with Son Heung-min opening the scoring for City before turning the ball into his net all within the opening ten minutes.

Pep Guardiola's side then started to flex their muscles as Phil Foden rounded off a superb team goal to send City ahead. The Champions were then firmly in the driving seat, and on another day they could have been five to the good before half-time.

Giovani Lo Celso silenced the Etihad to draw Spurs level, before Grealish thought he had won it.

However, Kulusevski had the last laugh, out jumping Nathan Ake at the back post in the 89th minute. There was still time for drama, with Hooper blowing early with Grealish through on goal, but City didn't do enough to win the game.

Guardiola's men have now dropped down to third in the table, three points off the top spot.
