Golden Boy top 17 players announced including Man Utd, City and Arsenal stars

Erling Haaland has been crowned the winner of the coveted Golden Boy award for 2020.

The Borussia Dortmund striker's storming performances since moving to Germany have seen him become one of the world's hottest properties.

And now he has been rewarded for his success, beating the likes of Jadon Sancho, Ansu Fati and Alphonso Davies to the post.

Four Premier League stars received votes for the prize, which is given to the best player under the age of 21 in the European leagues.

Man City's Phil Foden and Ferran Torres, plus Manchester United's Mason Greenwood and Arsenal's Bukayo Saka were all listed for the award.

Previous winners of the award include Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero.

It makes the gong a strong indicator of who are going to be the superstars of the future.

Last week, Daily Star Sport looked into the previous 17 winners of the award and how their careers progressed.

There were a handful of disappointing performers, including Anderson, formerly of Manchester United, and Mario Balotelli.

Here is how the voting for the Golden Boy voting went down this year…
