Gary Lineker has spotted a pair of blunders in a Sky Sports graphic as supporters slammed a Cristiano Ronaldo 'bias' during a Monday Night Football debate.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were debating who was the better player out of Lionel Messi and United's Ronaldo ahead of the match between Everton and Burnley.

However, a graphic shown comparing a series of their impressive statistics left off two trophies from Messi's impressive collection of silverware.

This led Lineker and fans of Messi to take to Twitter to point out the blunder and claim the coverage was bias towards Ronaldo instead of Messi.

The graphic in question stated that Messi had not won an international trophy, despite captaining Argentina to the Copa America title earlier this summer.

In addition, he was also listed to have only won three Champions Leagues, seemingly leaving out the title he won with Barcelona in 2006.

Lineker posted a picture of the graphic on Twitter, writing: "To be fair, it's such a long time since Messi led Argentina to victory in Copa America, they're entitled to forget it."

Supporters were quick to reply with scathing verdicts on the Sky Sports coverage as one Messi fan wrote: "It's absolutely disgusting, what a joke man."

Another claimed: "Sky knows exactly what they are doing, they do this for views. Anyone without bias knows that Messi is the greatest player of all time, stats wise and eye-test wise."

As well as leaving off Messi's Copa America win, the graphic had Ronaldo down as winning two international trophies, counting the 2019 UEFA Nations League as well as the Euros in 2016.

This led many to suggest that either of Messi's 2008 Olympic gold medal or the under-20 World Cup in 2005 should have been included as well.

As for the absent fourth Champions League, this is less of a blunder than the Copa America omission from the graphic.

Although Messi played six times during the 2005/06 Champions League, he was not included in the squad for the final against Arsenal in Paris.

The 19-year-old missed the final three rounds of the tournament with a muscle injury but is still generally referred to as a four-time Champions League winner having starred in the group stage and round of 16.
