Dublin slams the Man United squad after their 'HORRENDOUS' displays
Dion Dublin slams the Man United squad after their ‘HORRENDOUS’ displays this season… and the ex-Red Devils striker questions whether Ralf Rangnick’s side even had something to play for before defeat at Brighton
- Dion Dublin questioned whether Manchester United had something to play for
- The Red Devils then went on to lose 4-0 against Brighton at the Amex
- He says the players will be ’embarrassed’ after their ‘horrendous’ performances
- The club will finish with their lowest ever points tally in Premier League history
Former striker Dion Dublin was heavily critical of the Manchester United squad and questioned if they even have something to play for before they were beaten 4-0 by Brighton.
The Red Devils have had a season to forget as they currently sit sixth in the table and cannot qualify for next season’s Champions League after their drubbing at the Amex.
Dublin claimed before kick-off United’s players will be ’embarrassed’ following their ‘horrendous’ performances this term, and they then went on to allow Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard to score.

United cannot finish in the Champions League spots after their 4-0 drubbing at Brighton
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the game against the Seagulls, Dublin said: ‘I genuinely don’t know what they are playing for. If I was in this position I’d just want to personally give something back to the fans. I’d want to give blood sweat and tears to the fans.
‘Man United’s squad of players is a very good squad of players and should be a top three finish.
‘The way the season has gone for them is horrendous, and their performances have been horrendous.
‘I’m going off Man United’s own standards and I think they’ll be embarrassed by the way things have gone if they have any pride in themselves which they will do.’
They will also amass their lowest points tally in Premier League history this season
United have come in for huge criticism this season and a number of their top stars simply have not performed as expected.
The likes of Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford have not been operating at anywhere near their best and a clear-out is expected in the summer.
Ralf Rangnick has failed to turn the club’s fortunes around following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November and it was confirmed last month that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag will take the reign this summer.
United will now be without Champions League football next season and now will finish with their lowest ever points tally in Premier League history, even if they beat Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.
United currently sit on 58 points, with their previous lowest tally coming in the 2013/14 season, the year after Sir Alex Ferguson left, when they amassed 64.
