Cristiano Ronaldo has seemingly given his approval of Raphael Varane’s move to Manchester United. The Red Devils agreed a £41million deal with Real Madrid this month to sign Varane.
He comes in as United’s second marquee signing of the summer, following Jadon Sancho’s arrival.
Varane’s move seemingly took longer to announce despite an agreement reportedly being in place for over a week.
But United seemingly wanted to wait to unveil Varane at a packed-out Old Trafford.
The France international was given a raucous reception as he made his way out onto the pitch ahead of United’s Premier League opener against Leeds.

Rio Ferdinand posted his approval of United’s newest recruit on social media, sharing a short clip of the two embracing on the pitch.
The post has since drawn over one million views and it appears as though Ronaldo also caught a glimpse of the video.
The former United forward responded to Ferdinand’s post, writing “Grande”.
The one-word post translates as “great” from Portuguese, suggesting Ronaldo approved of the transfer.
Varane was unable to feature for United in their first game of the season, but he certainly would have enjoyed his first game at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick while Paul Pogba bagged four assists as United thrashed Leeds 5-1.
The 28-year-old could be set to make his first appearance for United against Southampton next weekend.
And he’s clearly ready to get started and make his own history at the club.
Varane said: “Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down.
“There is a lot more that I want to achieve in my career and I know I’m joining a squad full of great players who will all have the same determination to win matches and trophies.
“Having spoken to the manager I can see how much progress has been made over the last few seasons and I now join a group ready to play at the highest level.
“I want to make an impact here and I will give everything to become part of this club’s illustrious history.”
