Jorginho’s agent has suggested there is no chance the Italian will leave Chelsea this summer, despite links with former club Napoli. The midfielder has emerged as a key component of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, scoring three times since his appointment in January.

A recent study, conducted by the CIES Football Observatory named Jorginho as the best player in the Premier League, for recent performances, with Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski the only players in Europe rated better.

But with just two years remaining on his current deal, there has been speculation about a potential return to Serie A.

Napoli are believed to be considering a bid for the 29-year-old, after he admitted he was missing living in Naples.

“There are no words to describe how much I miss Naples,” he said last month.

“Who wouldn’t miss Naples? It’s so cold in London, they don’t even know what the sun is!”

Meanwhile, the player’s agent only heightened fears about a potential exit, claiming they would evaluate any bid from a club he still holds so dear.

“If Napoli will make an offer, we’ll evaluate it,” Joao Santos told Radio Marte earlier month.

“He had a great time in Naples and he has many friends over there.”

But in a recent interview with Tuttomercato Santos has changed his tune, claiming he is ‘100 per cent’ sure his client will remain with the Blues.

“He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. Think about playing the European Championships. And then the World Cup in Qatar.

“He will remain at Chelsea, one hundred percent .”

Asked about potentially renweing Jorginho’s contract at Chelsea, he added: “We will talk about it in a few months.”

Chelsea remain unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel, with Jorginho a regular fixture in the German’s midfield.

But even when he is out of the team, he believes the rotation policy now adopted at Stamford Bridge is making them an even better team.

He said: “I think that having a starting XI that changes a lot is good for the team.

“Because that means that we have a lot of high-level players, of great quality, and whoever enters the pitch needs to do their best, to win.

“This ends up making it difficult for the coach to make choices, but I think it’s positive. It increases competitiveness even in training, because we cannot relax; we need to be at our maximum physical level, be concentrated, always up there.

“If you let your guard down, you can stay out of one or two games, because the other players will be focused there.”

Jorginho is expected to shake off the injury that saw him miss the FA Cup win over Sheffield United, when the Blues face West Brom in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
