Borussia Dortmund CEO gives update on Arsenal’s ‘interest’ in Julian Brandt

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says Arsenal have not been in contact over a move for Julian Brandt.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates during this month’s transfer window having fallen down the pecking order at the Bundesliga giants.

The Gunners are keen to bring more creation into their squad with Brandt a reported target for Mikel Arteta.

Though with the window now officially open, Zorc has insisted he has not received any communication over Brandt’s future.

“I read that too, I can't say more about it,” Zorc told Bild.

“Nobody has contacted us, there is nothing on the table – and not even in the fax machine.”

Reports had suggested Brandt is tempted by a move to Arsenal and he shares an agent with Gunners academy boss Per Mertesacker.

Many Arsenal fans believe there is already creative players available at the club with Mesut Ozil having been frozen out.
