Arsenal star David Luiz ‘drew blood’ from Dani Ceballos in violent training ground clash
Mikel Arteta reportedly sent David Luiz and Dani Ceballos home from training last Friday, after a violent clash in training that left the 24-year-old with a bloody nose. The two players were part of the group that stayed behind at London Colney during the international break before tensions boiled over.
It has been a chaotic ten days or so for the Gunners for many reasons ahead of club football’s return this weekend.
Arteta has been forced to contend with the news that Sead Kolasinac is his latest player to test positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was forced to stay overnight with his Gabon team-mates at an airport ahead of a African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Now it has emerged that an altercation took place in training, as the players looked to right the wrongs of the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

According to The Athletic, Luiz and Ceballos allegedly came to blows in training last Friday.
The former Chelsea man is said to have taken exception to a strong challenge from the attacking midfielder.
He then retaliated, by hitting him in the face and the there was a scratch to Ceballos’ nose that drew blood.
The Real Madrid loanee was then ready to confront Luiz but Arsenal staff and fellow team-mates helped defuse the situation.

Arteta sent the duo home before the players enjoyed three days off.
The pair have since apologised to the Arsenal boss and their team-mates for their actions.
Both were left alone to discuss this incident and make up for the greater good of the team ahead of this weekend’s trip to Leeds.
It’s not the first time that Ceballos has been involved in an incident this season.
He came to blows with striker Eddie Nketiah in the warm-up ahead of the opening day win over Fulham.

The England Under-21 forward then cleared up the incident after Ceballos assisted him in the 2-1 win over West Ham.
“Obviously there was a coming together, I was a bit upset with the challenge he put in and obviously the reaction was there,” Nketiah said.
“But we made up quickly, apologised quickly and got on with it, that’s what happens in life.
“It was nice for him to make the assist for me today, so it’s all love now!”
Arteta will welcome the competitive spirit from his players on the training field as he eyes a response from his players following the embarrassing capitulation against Villa.
