Arsenal supporters are convinced that Gabriel Martinelli’s latest snub could be the final straw in regards to his future at the club. The Brazilian has been on the peripheries, ever since returning from a serious knee injury in December.
In total, he has played just over 200 minutes in the Premier League, with his last start coming all the way back in January.
Since then, he has either been given short cameos, or left as an unused substitute on Mikel Arteta’s bench.
But with Arteta always likely to ring the changes for their Europa League quarter-final first leg with Slavia Prague, many felt the 19-year-old could have been given a chance.
However, even with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe relegated to the bench, Martinelli has still had to settle for a place on the bench.

That’s despite a plea from Gunners legend Martin Keown, who earlier this week, suggested Martinelli was too good to be sitting on the bench.
“It’s time to bring in 19-year-old Gabriel Martinelli,” Keown said. “He is too good to be sitting on the bench. His team-mates see him in training and know what he can do.
“They will be baffled by his continued absence. I know I am.
He continued: “Use him on the left. Use Martinelli’s fellow 19-year-old Bukayo Saka on the right. Start Emile Smith Rowe. Then you’ll have a team who can pose problems for the opposition. There were too many passengers against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Arteta has pleaded for patience with the young forward urging him to take his chances, as and when they come along.
“He wants to play all the time,” Arteta said earlier this year. “We know him and he is disappointed when he is not playing.
“But you know that when you throw him on that pitch he is going to do his best. He had his opportunity last week against Benfica when I decided to substitute Aubameyang and give him some minutes.
“He needs to take his opportunity and when he plays, he needs to perform like everybody else.”
But after failing to hand him a chance once again, fans believe he could force a move at the end of the campaign.
Martinelli is going to leave this summer isn’t he? No way he sticks around when he’s being treated so poorly by Arteta,” one supporter said.
Another posted: “No Martinelli again! He’s so going to leave!”
A third concluded: “Preparing for a Martinelli exit, sigh,” while another predicted: “I would think Martinelli is starting to get a tad p****d off now.”
“Martinelli is going to leave and become a world class player. And when he does leave its arteta’s fault,” a fifth concluded.
And finally, a sixth simply urged the Brazilian to make a move, claiming: “Martinelli should just hand in a transfer request this summer.”
