  • Farrell appeared to land a no-arms tackle on Andre Esterhuizen at Twickenham
  • There had been fears he may be hit with a ban for next week’s New Zealand clash
  • But citing commissioner Keith Brown has said the hit did not warrant a red card

England star Owen Farrell will be available to face New Zealand next weekend after he avoided being cited for a controversial tackle on Andre Esterhuizen.

Farrell hit Esterhuizen in the dying seconds of England’s 12-11 win over South Africa. Referee Angus Gardner checked with the TV official on Saturday before deciding not to award a penalty against England.

But there remained fears that Farrell could be cited and hit with a ban which would rule him out of England’s next Test.

However, citing commissioner Keith Brown has said the hit did not warrant a red card.
