NHL All-Star 2020: Rosters, format, TV channel for Elite Women’s 3-on-3

When the NHL’s stars descend on St. Louis for All-Star Weekend from Jan. 24-25, some of the top women’s hockey players in North America will also hit the ice at Enterprise Center.

On Friday, during the NHL’s All-Star Skills Competition, members of the Canadian and United States women’s national teams — and the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association — will battle it out in a 3-on-3 game. A fierce, long-standing rivalry that has seen these countries battle for Olympic and World Championship gold almost every tournament, each roster is comprised of nine skaters, one goalie and a Hall of Famer coach: Cammi Granato (USA) and Jayna Hefford (Canada).

The game marks the third consecutive year women will participate in the NHL’s All-Star Weekend. A member of each team will also compete in the All-Star Skills Competition’s “Shooting Stars” event that will see competitors aiming for targets on the ice while suspended approximately 30 feet off the ice behind a goal.
