Paul Pierce, ESPN part ways after wild Instagram live post
ESPN on Monday parted ways with NBA analyst Paul Pierce after he posted an inappropriate video on Instagram, two people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.
The people requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.
Pierce posted video on Instagram live over the weekend that showed near-naked women and Pierce smoking and drinking. It is not known if Pierce was smoking marijuana, which is legal for adult-use in California, but ESPN is owned by corporate media giant Disney.
Late Monday, Pierce posted a video on Twitter that was four seconds of him laughing. He wrote, “Big Things coming soon stay tuned make sure u smile #Truthshallsetufree”
