NBA trade rumors: Timberwolves not inclined to accept Rockets’ offer on Jimmy Butler deal

The Timberwolves don’t appear to be budging on the Rockets’ offer for a Jimmy Butler deal.

According to Shams Charania‏ of the Stadium, citing unidentified sources, the Timberwolves are “showing no inclination to move” on Houston’s offer of two injured players and four first-rounders for Butler.

ESPN originally reported Thursday the Rockets’ offer would include four future first-round picks, but Charania adds the proposed deal includes two injured players with Marquese Chriss (ankle) and Brandon Knight (knee). However, the report adds the Timberwolves wouldn’t have the opportunity to immediately use any of the assets acquired in the trade because Chriss and Knight don’t have a timetable to return.

Butler requested a trade before the season and the Timberwolves reportedly were on the verge of completing a trade with the Heat before changes proposed by Minnesota led to a breakdown in talks earlier this month, according to The New York Times. There also were reports the Timberwolves’ asking price was too high and Miami wouldn’t budge.
