UFC star collapses twice while weighing in before being taken to hospital

This is the dramatic moment UFC star Julija Stoliarenko passes out while attempting to weigh in for her fight tomorrow night.

Stoliarenko was stepping on to the scales in a bid to make the 136lb bantamweight limit for her clash with Julia Avila.

But she fainted as she was doing so, staggering backwards before falling to the ground.

Stoliarenko was then incredibly allowed to make a second attempt, scaling 135.5lb, before she collapsed again.

The 27-year-old Lithuanian regained consciousness and was then taken away on a stretcher before being taken to hospital.

Stoliarenko was due to make her second appearance with the UFC having lost on her debut last August when she was outpointed by Yana Kunitskaya.

Her clash with Avila was due to open the show tomorrow night as the first fight on the undercard of Derek Brunson's clash with Kevin Holland.

The fighters continued to weigh in for the card in Las Vegas but Stoliarenko's fight was immediately cancelled.

Stoliarenko made her mixed martial arts debut in 2012 and amassed a record of 9-3-2 before moving to the UFC.

Avila, meanwhile, won her first two fights in the UFC before losing to Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision last September.

Ranked No.15 in the bantamweight division, Avila would have hoped victory would earn herself a fight with a fellow ranked opponent.

Amanda Nunes is the division's champion with Germaine De Randamie and Holly Holm her nearest challengers.
