The first Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje trailer has been dropped and sent fans into a frenzy ahead of the most anticipated fight of the year.

On October 24, the undefeated Russian puts his perfect record and lightweight belt on the line against the interim champion.

A two-and-a-half minute video has been released by the UFC ramping up the excitement.

Justin Gaethje is the dangerous challenger many think could undo Khabib Nurmagomedov

The challenger smells blood and has an incredible record of finishing fights

Footage of Khabib beating Conor McGregor was used in the promo video by the UFC

Ever since Gaethje dominated Tony Ferguson, winning by fifth-round TKO earlier this summer, there has been huge anticipation about his fight with Khabib.

Many believe he has the attributes that could cause the fearsome wrestler problems and the legendary cardio to back it up over a whole 25 minutes.

The UFC’s promotional video begins by showing Gaethje overcoming Ferguson and afterwards throwing the interim belt on the mat, declaring that he is only interested in the real thing.

Joe Rogan’s voiceover then says: ‘Khabib Nurmagomedov is 28-0, he has dominated spectacular fighters, he’s defeated world champions, he’s an undeniable, unstoppable force.

‘Justin Gaethje presents the most dangerous challenge to his title reign.’ Daniel Cormier then adds: ‘This is the scariest guy in the division for Khabib Nurmagomedov.’

The the only line from Khabib himself as he says: ‘Before the fight, everybody says “now it will be a good challenge”, what are they going to say after I smash him.’

Khabib has rarely looked like losing a fight en route to compiling his 28-0 professional record

This will be the first fight Khabib has had since the death of his father Abdulmanap following complications in hospital caused by coronavirus earlier this year.

The champion had been moulded by Abdulmanap, who coached his son from a young age and remained a key figure in his career.

Khabib will feel comfortable in the surroundings of Fight Island in Abu Dhabi where he is used to the oppressive heat and has plenty of support, even though the fight will take place in the Flash Forum behind closed doors.

His last fight was also on Yas Island, a third-round submission win over Dustin Poirier. If he can put Gaethje to the sword then it would further cement his already incredible legacy.
