The Phillip Stokes-trained Sizzlefly is ready to return to the winners list at Murray Bridge

The Phillip Stokes yard heads to Murray Bridge with a strong hand on Saturday and there’s an air of confidence that stakes placed mare Sizzlefly is ready to lead the charge for the dual-state stable.

Sizzlefly will go in search of a sixth career victory at start 16 when she tackles the Ridleys Plumbing and Earthmoving Handicap Benchmark 82 (1000m).

The daughter of Sizzling is second up after returning from a spell with a runner-up to in-form stablemate Terbium at Gawler on December 19.

Sizzlefly is rated a $2.20 favourite to go one better this time around.

Stable representative Tommy Stokes, who remains on deck while his dad inspects yearlings on the Gold Coast at the Magic Millions Sales, agrees with the assessment and believes Sizzlefly can add to her winning tally on the weekend.

“We are really happy with her and she is definitely our best chance of the day,” Tommy Stokes said.

“I can’t fault her. She has had a faultless preparation leading into this.

“I thought she was super first up and second up with some added fitness, she should be ready to go.”

Jockey Kayla Crowther will reunite with Sizzlefly on Saturday with the pair combining for a win and two placings from four starts.

The in-form hoop, who rode a treble at Gawler last weekend, will need to navigate from a tricky draw in barrier seven.

“Hopefully she can get a bit of cover midfield somewhere and be running over the top of them,” Stokes said.

All four Stokes runners on the card are in single digits with bookmakers with stablemates Ambidazzle ($6) and Call Me Seamus ($8) lining up in the Carlton Draught 0-68 Handicap (1200m).

“Both of their work has been good and I expect both with run well coming off last start wins,” Stokes said.

Done By Me ($5.50) rounds out the Stokes hand on the card and returns to South Australia after campaigning in Victoria.

The Bon Hoffa mare is set to contest the Magic Millions Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m).

“She has been a bit disappointing this preparation but her best she would romp in in this although we haven’t seen that form yet,” Stokes said.

The Stokes stable will also saddle up That Girl in the Kennedy Sprint at Flemington.
