Former Everton forward Tim Cahill has put his stunning New Jersey mansion up for sale at £5.4m.

The Australian, who last played for Indian Super League club Jamshedpur, announced his retirement from professional football in March.

And he now wants to retire from his luxury residence in the borough of Saddle River in Bergen County, just 17 miles from Manhattan.

The house also has a number of special facilities, including an indoor football pitch 

It’s hard to see why the 39-year-old would want to leave the house, which comes with over 10,000 square feet of living space as well as eight bedrooms and bathrooms. 

It has all the facilities you would expect from such a property, including a beautifully modern kitchen and living areas.

However, it is the extra sport-related things on offer which set it apart.

Not only does the home have a gym, spa and infinity pool but it also has an indoor basketball court, football pitch and golf simulator. 

It also includes an indoor basketball court – Cahill known to be a big fan of the sport 

There is also a huge games room for those less interested in physical activities

Cahill bought the mansion when he signed a three-year deal with the New York Red Bulls in 2012.

He has spoken of how he liked the location as it allowed his family to have a huge back garden to enjoy as allowing him to live a life where he was rarely noticed by fans. 

Cahill spent 14 years in England playing for Millwall and Everton and is his country’s  all-time top scorer with 50 goals in 108 appearances.
