‘Next stage Madrid’ – Has Eden Hazard CONFIRMED Real Madrid move in Twitter video?
The Belgian superstar is expected to seal his dream move to the Bernabeu this summer.
A fee still needs to be agreed between the two clubs but Hazard is set to switch London for Spain’s capital after the Europa League final.
Chelsea play Arsenal in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 29 and reports have suggested Real intend to announce the signing of Hazard soon after.
The 28-year-old is desperate to team up with boyhood idol Zinedine Zidane.
But Hazard is currently being left frustrated by Chelsea’s tough stance in negotiations, which is holding up his switch being readied for the summer.
He spoke out publicly on Sunday after the Blues’ final Premier League game at Leicester as they drew 0-0 to secure a third-place finish under Maurizio Sarri.
The Chelsea manager has been understanding in his assessment of Hazard’s future, insisting the club should respect the wishes of their talismanic forward, who has spent seven years in west London.
The speculation surrounding Hazard’s switch to Real continues as:
- Frank Lampard issues an important warning on Hazard to Chelsea chiefs
- Christian Pulisic reveals the one Chelsea star he cannot wait to play with
- Ruben Loftus-Cheek stalls on his contract decision as he awaits one promise
The game takes place tomorrow and fans watching Chelsea train have been begging and chanting for Hazard to stay, especially amid the club’s transfer ban from FIFA covering the next two windows.
Hazard’s social media accounts have also been spammed with messages from supporters pleading with the player to remain with Chelsea.
But it appears the Blues’ top goalscorer this season has inadvertently provided more fuel to the fire he is poised to end up in Madrid.
Hazard promoted a video he was involved in with Chelsea sponsor Nissan on his Twitter account.
The caption wrote: “Had a great time with @nissanfootball searching for talented players in London. #InnovateYourGame”.
During the 2 minute 12 second clip, Hazard oversees some one-on-one matches between street players who have been selected by Nissan to compete for glory.
The two winners celebrate with Hazard at the end, but on a computer screen it then reads ‘NEXT STAGE: MADRID’.
The unfortunate irony and timing of the message in the video was not missed by Chelsea fans.
One Blues supporter replied to Hazard: “Madrid?”
Another screenshot the graphic during the video and said: “Welp Hazard is gone”.
A third added: “Next stage Madrid? Sir Eden don’t make me cry x”.
A fourth said: “What a nice way of telling us you going. Next stage Madrid”.
