NASCAR at Dover: Live race updates, results, highlights from Drydene 400

The second part of the NASCAR playoffs begins in Dover, with 12 drivers remaining in the hunt for a championship.

Chase Elliott won last week’s race at the Roval in Charlotte, but the real drama happened behind him: Alex Bowman’s second-place finish was just enough to make the cut as a top-12 driver in the standings, with the help of a near-crash from Ryan Newman, who otherwise would have beaten out Bowman for the final spot in the top 12.

The Roval was the first playoff race not won by Martin Truex Jr., who sits in second place in the playoff standings, behind only Kyle Busch.

Denny Hamlin, who’s in third in the standings, won the regular-season race at Dover and has the pole Sunday.
