Cristiano Ronaldo’s agency make a huge new signing

Daniel Ricciardo will be looking to make a name for himself on the track this season – and it seems he’s trying to do the same away from Formula 1 duty too.

The Australian racer is preparing for his debut campaign with Renault, after making the shock decision to end his 10-year association with the Red Bull Racing family last year.

And he doesn’t have to travel too far for his debut Renault race this weekend, with Melbourne’s Albert Park hosting the first race of the 2019 season this Sunday.

Ahead of the F1 curtain-raiser, seven-time Grand Prix winner Ricciardo has appointed leading global sports agency CAA Sport to represent him across all areas of his professional career both on and off the track.

The deal will see the former Red Bull star join global superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Nico Rosberg, Dele Alli and Dwyane Wade in being represented by CAA Sports.

Ricciardo said: “I am really excited to be joining CAA Sports.

“I believe I have found a partner in them that understand my ambitions and I am confident they will help me take the right steps in my career, both on and off the track, in the coming future.”

Matt O’Donohoe, CAA Sports – London, added: “Anytime you get a chance to work with someone of Daniel’s ability and unique personality, it’s a great moment.

“At CAA Sports, we endeavor to work with talent who are best-in-class. Our award-winning talent representation team has been setting standards in the industry and working with Daniel is another great chapter in this journey.

“We look forward to helping him achieving his dreams inside the sport and beyond.”

One of his dreams will no doubt be to secure a podium at his home race, a feat he is yet to achieve in his seven races in Australia.

He’s finished fourth twice in the last three years, and will certainly want to kickstart his Renault era with a bang this weekend.
